Here are a few managerial tips for Executives and Managers:

Lead

Sometimes managers are eager to demonstrate the fact that they value the contributions of subordinates and so they over-delegate managerial tasks and neglect micro-management. This has the effect of removing the safety nets of employees and can sometimes make them anxious and uncomfortable.

Employees must be assured at all times that there is someone to turn to if difficulties which are beyond their control arise. As a result, managers should ensure that they outline action plans and oversee the activities of the firms they run, instead of placing all responsibility in the hands of subordinates.

Always be Fair

Being fair and treating all subordinates equally will go a long way in ensuring that employees feel appreciated and respected. This will lead to high morale and will keep office tension at a low level.

Avoid Playing Games

Whenever someone is not direct in any relationship, this is referred to as playing games. Ignoring someone through the 'silent treatment', or bringing up mistakes made in weeks past are all examples of games. A manager must maintain the respect of all employees and cannot do so by playing games. The correct approach is to be respectful, but direct. Avoid stooping to the level of a disrespectful employee by responding to disrespectful words in a similar manner.

Set the standard and make it clear that this will not be accepted. Internalizing dissatisfaction for unacceptable conduct should also be avoided, especially if it will eventually lead to an eruption of anger on your part. Indulging in disrespect will strip you of any respect which you have earned, but being direct and respectful will stop disrespectful employees dead in their tracks.

Adopt Methods of Boosting Morale

Out of office outings can go a long way in boosting morale in the workplace and creating a supportive group. Integrating stress relieving measures such as a humour corner can create strong bonds within a workplace and create an environment which employees look forward to coming to everyday.

Lead by Example

Anything insisted of your employees should be demonstrated by you. If you are always late, employees are likely to use that as a reason why they should be excused for being late.

Use this resource as a reference point and let it be your personal armour and shield.
